![]() ![]() ![]() The following season (2018/19) she started with her now coach, Remo Pollastri and at the end of the season she won bronze in the National 400m hurdles. ![]() The same year, she won her first State track medal in the 300m hurdles. “I went to National All Schools to compete in discus but ended up running 400m as well.” She placed 13th in the U14 discus, but made the 400m final.”Īshley continued to play touch football, again in the WA State in 2018 in the U15s. Her first National Championships was in 2016 was likely a turning point. But before she would win her first athletics State medal (in discus), Ashley was selected in WA’s U12 State Football team. Ashley started at UWA Little Athletics club in the U7s with most success in the discus, hurdles, 400m and 800m. In April she was named in the Australian team for the World U20 Championships.Īshley Spencer’s mother decided to put her into athletics as she had enjoyed the sport when she was a child. In 2022 she placed second in the National U20 Championships, clocking a World junior qualifier in both the heat and final. After going to her first Nationals, primarily as a discus thrower, she evolved into a 300m, then 400m hurdler, hitting PBs each year at recent National Championships. Over her decade in athletics, Ashley Spencer has gradually improved on her journey in the sport. ![]()
